Key Points
Straightness – line elements may be applied to the surface of a pin. The specification defines a tolerance zone in which the line elements on the surface must lie. The feature control frame is directed to the surface. MMC and LMC modifiers are not allowed.

How to Read It
Each longitudinal element of the surface must lie between two parallel lines 0.05 apart where the two lines and axis of the unrelated actual mating envelope share a common plane. In addition, the feature must be within the limits of size, including perfect form at MMC. Straightness – line elements controls wasting, barrelling, and bending of the feature. It does not control taper or circularity.
