A CMM may be used to measure both the profile and angularity. The CMM first probes the datum features to establish the DRF. The basic dimensions or CAD data is imported to define the true profile. The CMM then measures and reports the surface deviations from true profile. These deviations are used to calculate the measured zones.
Measured profile value = 2*(max deviation) = 0.48 PASS|
Measured angularity value = max – min = 0.32 FAIL
