This technical drawing course is a basic introduction to the required content of engineering drawings. The principles of orthographic projection and an intro on how to read GD&T are also included.
Anyone who needs to create or learn how to read an engineering drawing. This training course is for mechanical engineers, designers, drafters, quality, inspection, manufacturing, tooling, production, procurement, and purchasing.

Program Description: These skills learned through GeoTol’s engineering drawing training are essential in mechanical design, production and inspection. GD&T students will develop skills to document and visualize parts using orthographic projection (multi-view drawings) through hands-on practice. Participants will use cutting planes to create sectional views and learn to project auxiliary views.
Students will understand the importance of drawing management such as title blocks, bill of materials, drawing notes, and revisions. The progressive mechanical drawing classes cover the application and interpretation of dimensions, surface finishes, screw threads/fasteners, and welding symbols. GeoTol’s Print Reading program also introduces various manufacturing processes to produce mechanical parts and assemblies. Lastly, the students will be provided with a simple introduction to GD&T symbols and terms. This engineering drawing and reading training may be customized to company parts and prints.
GeoTol’s engineering drawing course is available online with self-paced or on site gd&t training.
